MAKING APPOINTMENTS  

Consultations are by appointment only, ensuring low waiting times 

Appointments are usually available on the day and can be made by phoning between:

Mon –Tues:          8.45am – 3.00pm

Wed:                       9.00am – 11.00am

Thu – Fri:            8.45am – 3.00pm                      

Sat:                         9.00am – 10.00am

Telephones are manned during business hours, if the receptionist is unable to get to the phone an answering machine is available to take your call and it will be returned promptly

Urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly, however please call 000 in an emergency.

USUAL TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS

Standard - up to approx. 10mins.

Long - up to approx. 20mins.

Appointments are normally made at 10min. intervals.

Identifying Standard or Long consultations:

  • If you think you will need more than 10 minutes with the doctor, ask for a double appointment;
  • If you have a list of issues, your consultation will probably take more than 10 minutes.  Please make a double appointment:
  • If you have any forms which need to be completed, please advise reception as some may require a double appointment.

Each appointment is for one person.  If you have other family members who require medical attention, please make a separate booking

CONTACTING THE DOCTOR

 Quick phone advice with the Doctor is available during consultation hours, if you wish to discuss anything at length you will need to arrange an appointment.

PRESCRIPTIONS

Schedule 8 drugs (drugs of dependence) will not be prescribed to new patients unless permission is given by previous Doctor, to avoid prescription drug abuse.

RESULTS

For standard results patients are advised to re-book/phone in for results.

Due to the high number of results and the demand on the Doctors time, Patients will only be contacted if results require further urgent action
